'Stink' attack on Japan's whalers

The protesters have been pursuing the Japanese fleet for a week
An anti-whaling group says its members have thrown "stink" bombs at a Japanese whaling ship in the Antarctic.

The Sea Shepherd group said crew on one of its boats lobbed 10 bottles of rotten butter and 15 bottles of a methyl cellulose at the Japanese ship.

No-one was injured during Friday's incident north of the Mawson Peninsula, Japanese officials said.

They said their ship was on a research expedition. Opponents say this could be a cover for banned commercial whaling.

The Sea Shepherd said the incident took place at 0730 GMT on Friday off the coast of the Australian Antarctic Territory.

The group said its members on board its ship - the Steve Irwin - threw the bottles at Japan's Kaiko Maru vessel after pursuing the Japanese whaling fleet for a week.

"That is one stinky slippery ship," Sea Shepherd's official Peter Hammarstedt said.

The group said its objective was to intimidate the Japanese whalers and keep them moving eastward out of Australian Territorial waters.

It said that the fleet had not been able to kill any whales during the chase.

Japan says its research expeditions do not violate a moratorium on commercial whaling adopted by the International Whaling Commission in 1986.

Animals Have Souls

One widespread rationalization in Christian circles, often used to justify humanity’s mistreatment of animals, is the erroneous belief that humans alone possess immortal souls, and only humans, therefore, are worthy of moral consideration. The 19th century German philosopher, Arthur Schopenhauer, condemned such a philosophy in his On the Basis of Morality.

"Because Christian morality leaves animals out of account," wrote Schopenhauer, "they are at once outlawed in philosophical morals; they are mere ‘things,’ mere means to any ends whatsoever. They can therefore be used for vivisection, hunting, coursing, bullfights, and horse racing, and can be whipped to death as they struggle along with heavy carts of stone. Shame on such a morality that is worthy of pariahs, and that fails to recognize the eternal essence that exists in every living thing, and shines forth with inscrutable significance from all eyes that see the sun!"

According to the Bible, animals have souls. Texts such as Genesis 1:21,24 are often mistranslated to read "living creatures." The exact Hebrew used in reference to animals throughout the Bible is "nephesh chayah," or "living soul." This is how the phrase has been translated in Genesis 2:7 and in four hundred other places in the Old Testament. Thus, Genesis 1:30 should more accurately read: "And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, I have given every green herb for meat."

God breathed the "breath of life" into man, and caused him to become a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) Animals have the same "breath of life" as do humans. (Genesis 7:15, 22) Numbers 16:22 refers to the Lord as "the God of spirits of all flesh." In Numbers 31:28, God commands Moses to divide up among the people the cattle, sheep, asses and human prisoners captured in battle and to give to the Lord "one soul of five hundred" of both humans and animals alike. Psalm 104 says God provides for animals and their ensoulment.

"O Lord, how innumerable are Thy works; in wisdom Thou hast made them all! The earth is full of Thy well-made creations. All these look to Thee to furnish their timely feed. When Thou providest for them, they gather it. Thou openest Thy hand, and they are satisfied with good things. When Thou hidest Thy face, they are struck with despair. When Thou cuttest off their breath, in death they return to their dust. Thou sendest Thy Spirit and more are created, and Thou dost replenish the surface of the earth."

Similarly, the apocryphal Book of Judith praises God, saying, "Let every creature serve You, for You spoke and they were made. You sent forth Your Spirit and they were created." Job 12:10 teaches that in God’s hand "is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind."

Ecclesiastes 3:19-20 says humans have no advantage over animals: "They all draw the same breath...all came from the dust, and to dust all return."

The verse that immediately follows asks, "Who knows if the spirit of man goes upward, and the spirit of the beast goes down to the earth?" The exact Hebrew word for "spirit," "ruach," is used in connection with animals as well as humans. Ecclesiastes 12:7 concludes that "the spirit shall return unto God who gave it."

This position was taken by Paul, who called himself an apostle to the gentiles. Paul spoke of God as the "giver of life and breath and all things to everyone." (Acts 17:25) In his epistle to the Romans 8:18-25, Paul wrote that the entire creation, and not just mankind, is awaiting redemption.

Revelations 16:3 also refers to the souls of animals: "The second angel poured out his bowl upon the sea, so that it turned to blood as of a corpse, and every living soul that was in the sea died." The exact Greek word for soul, "psyche," was used in the original texts.

English theologian Joseph Butler (1692-1752), a contemporary of John Wesley’s, was born in a Presbyterian family, joined the Church of England, and eventually became a bishop and dean of St. Paul’s. In his 1736 work, The Analogy of Religion, Bishop Butler became one of the first clergymen to teach the immortality of animal souls. "Neither can we find anything in the whole analogy of Nature to afford even the slightest presumption that animals ever lose their living powers, much less that they lose them by death," he wrote.

The Reverend John George Wood (1827-89) was an eloquent and prolific writer on the subject of animals. A popular lecturer on the subject of natural history, he wrote several books as well, such as My Feathered Friends and Man and Beast—Here and Hereafter. Wood believed most people were cruel to animals because they were unaware that the creatures possessed immortal souls and would enjoy eternal life.

One of the most scholarly studies on the issue of animal souls was undertaken by Elijah D. Buckner in his 1903 book The Immortality of Animals. He concluded: "...The Bible, without the shadow of a doubt, recognizes that animals have living souls the same as man. Most of the quotations given are represented as having been spoken by the Creator Himself, and he certainly knows whether or not He gave to man and lower animals alike a living soul, which of course means an immortal soul."

Influenced by Aristotle, Augustine and Aquinas, the Church of Rome maintains that animals lack souls or divinity, even though such a doctrine contradicts many biblical passages. Previously, during the Synod of Macon (585 AD), the Church had debated whether or not women have souls! Women in the Western world are finally being recognized as persons in every sense of the word—social, political and spiritual. Animals have yet to be given the same kind of moral consideration.

Pope Innocent VIII of the Renaissance required that when witches were burned, their cats be burned with them; Pope Pius IX of the 19th century forbade the formation of an SPCA in Rome, declaring humans had no duty to animals; Pope Pius XII of World War II stated that when animals are killed in slaughterhouses or laboratories, "...their cries should not arouse unreasonable compassion any more than do red-hot metals undergoing the blows of the hammer;" and Pope Paul VI in 1972, by blessing a batallion of Spanish

bullfighters, became the first Pope to bestow his benediction upon one cruelty even the Church had condemned.

In Christianity and the Rights of Animals, the Reverend Andrew Linzey responds to the widespread Christian misconception that animals have no souls by taking it to its logical conclusion:

"But let us suppose for a moment that it could be shown that animals lack immortal souls, does it follow that their moral status is correspondingly weakened? It is difficult to see in what sense it could be. If animals are not to be recompensated with an eternal life, how much more difficult must it be to justify their temporal sufferings?

"If, for an animal, this life is all that he can have, the moral gravity of any premature termination is thereby increased rather than lessened...In short, if we invoke the traditional argument against animals based on soullessness, we are not exonerated from the need for proper moral justification.

"Indeed, if the traditional view is upheld, the question has to be: How far can any proposed aim justify to the animal concerned what would seem to be a greater deprivation or injury than if the same were inflicted on a human being?"

"Mark Twain remarked long ago that human beings have a lot to learn from the Higher Animals," writes Unitarian minister Gary Kowalski, in his 1991 book, The Souls of Animals. "Just because they haven’t invented static cling, ICBM’s, or television evangelists doesn’t mean they aren’t spiritually evolved."

Kowalski’s definition of "spiritually evolved" includes "the development of a moral sense, the appreciation of beauty, the capacity for creativity, and the awareness of one’s self within a larger universe as well as a sense of mystery and wonder about it all. These are the most precious gifts we possess...

"I am a parish minister by vocation," Kowalski explains. "My work involves the intangible and perhaps undefinable realm of spirit. I pray with the dying and counsel the bereaved. I take part in the joy of parents christening their newborns and welcoming fresh life into the world.

"I occasionally help people think through moral quandries and make ethical decisions, and I also share a responsibility for educating the young, helping them realize their inborn potential for reverence and compassion. Week after week I stand before my congregation and try to talk about the greatest riddles of human existence. In recent years, however, I have become aware that human beings are not the only animals on this planet that participate in affairs of the spirit."

Kowalski notes that animals are aware of death. They have a sense of their own mortality, and grieve at the loss of companions. Animals possess language, musical abilities, a sense of the mysterious, creativity and playfulness. Animals possess a sense of right and wrong; they are capable of fidelity, altruism, and even self-sacrifice.

"Animals, like us, are microcosms," says Kowalski. "They too care and have feelings; they too dream and create; they too are adventuresome and curious about their world. They too reflect the glory of the whole.

"Can we open our hearts to the animals? Can we greet them as our soul mates, beings like ourselves who possess dignity and depth? To do so, we must learn to revere and respect the creatures, who, like us, are a part of God’s beloved creation, and to cherish the amazing planet that sustains our mutual existence.

"Animals," Kowalski concludes, "are living souls. They are not things. They are not objects. Neither are they human. Yet they mourn. They love. They dance. They suffer. They know the peaks and chasms of being."

Dear Family of Light.

A question came to my restless mind.

Is Life a mystery or do we awaken from the dream chemistry?

In the old ways we used to be still & silent, listening to nature and present moment.
There is no tomorrow or yesterday -only memories of the day that went and potential realities of the future. Now ~Time is the only one that counts. Now or Never !

This is a perfect moment 4 u to be present. Receive God's presence in an eternal second.
A perfect moment for many reasons, not to mention your attention is focused in now...but to be a soul above it all and vibrate at the original code is the secret to living free of emotional garbage, happy being and a star child.

Many are now waking up from our sleepwalking, thumb-sucking habits, depression collection, aggression crashes and a collusion of confusion as the world slips away.

Masters of illusion and destruction are visible -but the real servers, the silent warriors are invisible.

Thanks to time -destiny and a perfect drama or cosmic video each is seeing reality with new colored glasses or contact lens...we receive power from our future selves as well as past life incarnations—Yes even God is there to help and a 100,000 angels.

Who knows maybe you walked with Jesus or Buddha, but be it known you have walked a million miles in many suits, personalities and bodies--yes some men were women and some women-> men...some men are still women but no need to see the present-->always see the past-future perfect form. Hum So ~ So Hum, as I was in the past so I will be in future and visa versa. A cycle of time, a circle in rhythm, all is perfect season. The sun can not shine at 3 am.

Painful blessings flow, when we see the old and remember the junk. Only understanding the whole picture do we become Whole, Holy and true masters of ourselves.

We are all waking up at different speeds, karmic lessons and frequencies. .

Inner wars, selfish crimes, petty egos all torture the soul eternal because deep inside each ones knows it is more powerful than present tense.

Crimes against nature, extinctions of species, brand new diseases, money changers, let's pretend dictators and government capers is enough to make you cry or at least try to do something...but can we really change anyone or anything???

No ! It is hard enough to change myself, why worry about changing anyone or for that matter the film of life.

So be you, yes just U - observe and don't get ruffled by the traffic jam..times are changing and few really knew the future.

Some spying, others lying, many crying and the rain doesn't stop. Who's talking about the bills to be paid, gas for the car and food on the table, as the bankers come knocking at your door.

In the name of God the Father, we print our money, in the name of agricultural reform we sterilizing seeds and trade mark water. I remember many years ago -water, air and land were free...Many native elders still have papers signed that are useless. Laws written to protect are blasted for corporate greed. What has become of Human Nature?

Celebrations of shame, is the name of the game, all for a days fame.
We chase our visions as someone is stealing our dreams while the IRS or NSA
is harassing you for taxes--or even changing your name. It is all the same game from the TV commercials to the fake news on ABC or RCN - can not even our media be truthful? Blood money in political pockets and corporate payroll, such is Kali Yuga at 11:59 on the world clock.

Endless rehearsals for a time gone crazy or maybe a party for the end of the world, no one knows but the truth be told, we are all part of a World Drama Cycle and all are actors in a cosmic play.

I love it when music puts me in a good mood beating up outside material crap that try to interfere with your mind.

Been producing some new work and just bursting with ideas for upcoming installations and backdrops. I'm also working a lot with new digital drawing programs and practicing with different tools to make some nice digital illustrations. Need to work a lot these days, theres too much in my head right now that I need to put it out, too many ideas, its like if my mind is having a party and pouring out their acids on my brain.

I should be going back to school in the winter term or september, get another art career starting or maybe something totally different, you must know the confusion but is not like its something too hard,I know where I'm good at but surprisingly I've been getting good at a lot of other things as well which makes things even better. I finished my 2 yr art program and now to the next task, lets not forget an amazing break and then more school! Gotta do some careful planning in the next months, and wish for the best.

In the meantime lots of work to get done, lots of drawing, paintings, airbrushing, picture editing, sculpting, life drawing, video editing, website making, digital drawing, illustrating, animating, transforming random rooms into magical lands, excavating for quartz in a remote land, eating chocolate, surfing some waves, bathing in salt waters and waking up in the sand.

Who would worry ?

In Other news, I haven't had much time to fix the Gallery, for now I gotta go get some templates done that will be airbrushed later and the weekend is going to be busy. You will be able to see some of the work I have been making with friends and different art displays at parties very soon.

So many things happening lately, it feels as if everything happens at once, so quick.

People are going crazy right now, too much to handle for some of them and people are left in questions and wonder if is it over soon.

The world is going crazy, the economy is at its lowest in some parts... The people have to save the fat banks out of debt. Feels like America was vacuumed right in front on their noses.

Canada would elect its new leaders next weekend. Too bad Im not a canadian citizen yet so I can vote. There are some good leads for this election, and I hope the people elect the best for the country. Halloween is coming soon, Im still figuring out my costume. I got two parties to decorate this month with the crew. Got a few paintings to finish by then. Im also updating my website and soon start to build a website for the deco crew.

A lot of things happening in the next week, beware of October the 14th.. Too many stories going on the internet about a certain special ocasion, but be skeptic... It can easily be someone fooling you.

Avebury Manor of July 15, 2008 reminds us that the Mayan Long Count calendar will end on December 23, 2012: by showing precise orbital locations for all nine planets of our solar system on that date, plus an accurate elliptical orbit for Pluto

The 5125-year Mayan Long count calendar will end on December 22-23, 2012. Given the long period of time which it represents, all nine planets of our solar system need to be shown in order to mark its end uniquely. Such a clever astronomical diagram was shown at Avebury Manor on July 15, 2008. All nine planets appear there precisely as they will be located in space four and one-half years from now on December 23, 2012, with one exception.

Thus, the outermost planet Pluto has been drawn in this new crop picture somewhat further to the right (or closer to Neptune) than should be the case. Yet Pluto still seems to be located correctly relative to the crossover of its highly elliptical orbit with the orbit of Neptune. Three weeks ago at Secklendorf in Germany, two different dates from the year 2012 were indicated astronomically in a crop picture, one of which (December 21, 2012) was essentially the same as that shown here .

From first glance, it appears that this enormous design, near the banks of Neolithic Hill Fort Barbury Castle shows echoes of the ratchet, which was one portion of the Barbury Castle Triangle/Tetrahedron of 1991. Its is still regarded as "the mother of all pictograms". The proportions within this 2008 event indicate a far more intricate ratchet than its 1991 predecessor.

Many years of research have been carried out on the 1991 event, and indeed the ratchet design demonstrates the number seven, as notes within the diatonic scale. The whole structure is also a collection of numeric, musical and geometrical harmonies. Are we once again witnessing at this location, another formation from the Circle-makers indicating sound as a conveyed message which the ancients regarded as a prime creative force of the Universe.

Ancient Method, 'Black Gold Agriculture' May Revolutionize Farming, Curb Global Warming

Fifteen hundred years ago, tribes people from the central Amazon basin mixed their soil with charcoal derived from animal bone and tree bark. Today, at the site of this charcoal deposit, scientists have found some of the richest, most fertile soil in the world. Now this ancient, remarkably simple farming technique seems far ahead of the curve, holding promise as a carbon-negative strategy to rein in world hunger as well as greenhouse gases.

At the 235th national meeting of the American Chemical Society, scientists report that charcoal derived from heated biomass has an unprecedented ability to improve the fertility of soil -- one that surpasses compost, animal manure, and other well-known soil conditioners.

They also suggest that this so-called "biochar" profoundly enhances the natural carbon seizing ability of soil. Dubbed "black gold agriculture," scientists say this "revolutionary" farming technique can provide a cheap, straight-forward strategy to reduce greenhouse gases by trapping them in charcoal-laced soil.

"Charcoal fertilization can permanently increase soil organic matter content and improve soil quality, persisting in soil for hundreds to thousands of years," Mingxin Guo, Ph.D., and colleagues report. In what they describe as a "new and pioneering" ACS report -- the first systematic investigation of soil improvement by charcoal fertilization -- Guo found that soils receiving charcoal produced from organic wastes were much looser, absorbed significantly more water and nutrients and produced higher crop biomass. The authors, with Delaware State University, say "the results demonstrate that charcoal amendment is a revolutionary approach for long-term soil quality improvement."

Soil deterioration from depletion of organic matter is an increasingly serious global problem that contributes to hunger and malnutrition. Often a result of unsustainable farming, overuse of chemical fertilizers and drought, the main weapons to combat the problem --compost, animal manure and crop debris -- decompose rapidly.

"Earth's soil is the largest terrestrial pool of carbon," Guo said. "In other words, most of the earth's carbon is fixed in soil." But if this soil is intensively cultivated by tillage and chemical fertilization, organic matter in soil will be quickly decomposed into carbon dioxide by soil microbes and released into the atmosphere, leaving the soil compacted and nutrient-poor.

Applying raw organic materials to soil only provides a temporary solution, since the applied organic matter decomposes quickly. Converting this unutilized raw material into biochar, a non-toxic and stable fertilizer, could keep carbon in the soil and out of the atmosphere, says Guo.

"Speaking in terms of fertility and productivity, the soil quality will be improved. It is a long-term effect. After you apply it once, it will be there for hundreds of years," according to Guo. With its porous structure and high nutrient- and water-holding capabilities, biochar could become an extremely attractive option for commercial farmers and home gardeners looking for long-term soil improvement.

The researchers planted winter wheat in pots of soil in a greenhouse. Some pots were amended with two percent biochar, generated from readily available ingredients like tree leaves, corn stalk and wood chips. The other pots contained ordinary soil.

The biochar-infused soil showed vastly improved germination and growing rates compared to regular soil. Guo says that even a one-percent charcoal treatment would lead to improved crop yield.

Guo is "positive" that this ground-breaking farming technique can help feed countries with poor soil quality. "We hope this technology will be extended worldwide," says Guo.

"The production of current arable land could be significantly improved to provide more food and fiber for the growing populations. We want to call it the second agricultural revolution, or black gold revolution!"

He suggests that charcoal production has been practiced for at least 3000 years. But until now, nobody realized that this charcoal could improve soil fertility until archaeologists stumbled on the aforementioned Amazonian soil several years ago.

Biochar production is straightforward, involving a heating process known as pyrolysis. First, organic residue such as tree leaves and wood chips is packed into a metal container and sealed. Then, through a small hole on top, the container is heated and the material burns. The raw organic matter is transformed into black charcoal. Smokes generated during pyrolysis can also be collected and cooled down to form bio-oil, a renewable energy source, says Guo.

In lieu of patenting biochar, Guo says he is most interested in extending the technology into practice as soon as possible. To that end, his colleagues at Delaware State University are investigating a standardized production procedure for biochar. They also foresee long-term field studies are needed to validate and demonstrate the technology. Guo noted that downsides of biochar include transportation costs resulting from its bulk mass and a need to develop new tools to spread the granular fertilizer over large tracts of farmland.

The researchers are about to embark on a five-year study on the effect of "black gold" on spinach, green peppers, tomatoes and other crops. They seek the long-term effects of biochar fertilization on soil carbon changes, crop productivity and its effect of the soil microorganism community.

"Through this long-term work, we will show to people that biochar fertilization will significantly change our current conventional farming concepts," says Guo.

Could this be a solution for droughts and starvation in some parts of the world that are deeple affected by the soil not producing minerals anymore, therefore loosing its potential to produce food?

Amazonian Terra Preta Can Transform Poor Soil Into Fertile

Terra preta is characterized by the presence of low-temperature charcoal in high concentrations; of high quantities of pottery sherds; of organic matter such as plant residues, animal faeces, fish and animal bones and other material; and of nutrients such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), calcium (Ca), zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn)[1]. It also shows high levels of microorganic activities and other specific characteristics within its particular ecosystem. It is less prone to leaching than surrounding soils. Terra preta zones are generally surrounded by terra comum, or "common soil"; these are infertile soils, mainly acrisols[1], but also ferralsols and arenosols[2].

Terra preta soils are of pre-Columbian nature and were created by man between 7000 BP (ca. 5000 BC) [3] and 500 BP (ca. 1450 AD) ("Before Present"). The soil's depth can reach 2 metres (6 feet). Thousands of years after its creation it is reputedly known as self-regenerating at the rate of 1 centimetre per year[4] by the local farmers and caboclos in Brazil's Amazonian basin, and they seek it out for use and for sale as valuable compost.

Scientists have a method to reproduce this soil -- known as terra preta, or Amazonian dark earths -- and say it can pull substantial amounts of carbon out of the increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the Earth's atmosphere, helping to prevent global warming. That's because terra preta is loaded with so-called bio-char -- similar to charcoal.

"The knowledge that we can gain from studying the Amazonian dark earths, found throughout the Amazon River region, not only teaches us how to restore degraded soils, triple crop yields and support a wide array of crops in regions with agriculturally poor soils, but also can lead to technologies to sequester carbon in soil and prevent critical changes in world climate," said Johannes Lehmann, assistant professor of biogeochemistry in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at Cornell University, speaking today (Feb. 18) at the 2006 meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Lehmann, who studies bio-char and is the first author of the 2003 book "Amazonian Dark Earths: Origin, Properties, Management," the first comprehensive overview of the black soil, said that the super-fertile soil was produced thousands of years ago by indigenous populations using slash-and-char methods instead of slash-and-burn. Terra preta was studied for the first time in 1874 by Cornell Professor Charles Hartt.

Whereas slash-and-burn methods use open fires to reduce biomass to ash, slash-and-char uses low-intensity smoldering fires covered with dirt and straw, for example, which partially exclude oxygen.

Slash-and-burn, which is commonly used in many parts of the world to prepare fields for crops, releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Slash-and-char, on the other hand, actually reduces greenhouse gases, Lehmann said, by sequestering huge amounts of carbon for thousands of years and substantially reducing methane and nitrous oxide emissions from soils.

"The result is that about 50 percent of the biomass carbon is retained," Lehmann said. "By sequestering huge amounts of carbon, this technique constitutes a much longer and significant sink for atmospheric carbon dioxide than most other sequestration options, making it a powerful tool for long-term mitigation of climate change. In fact we have calculated that up to 12 percent of the carbon emissions produced by human activity could be offset annually if slash-and-burn were replaced by slash-and-char."

In addition, many biofuel production methods, such as generating bioenergy from agricultural, fish and forestry waste, produce bio-char as a byproduct. "The global importance of a bio-char sequestration as a byproduct of the conversion of biomass to bio-fuels is difficult to predict but is potentially very large," he added.

Applying the knowledge of terra preta to contemporary soil management also can reduce environmental pollution by decreasing the amount of fertilizer needed, because the bio-char helps retain nitrogen in the soil as well as higher levels of plant-available phosphorus, calcium, sulfur and organic matter. The black soil also does not get depleted, as do other soils, after repeated use.

"In other words, producing and applying bio-char to soil would not only dramatically improve soil and increase crop production, but also could provide a novel approach to establishing a significant, long-term sink for atmospheric carbon dioxide," said Lehmann. He noted that what is being learned from terra preta also can help farmers prevent agricultural runoff, promote sustained fertility and reduce input costs.

SOo Wow I had a great time with friends and jokes at Eclipse.. Lots of great music and great decoration

One thing is that I wish there was better artwork, there were some small airbrushed pannels...sure there were a lot of nice visuals and a wicked stage setup but the artwork was kind of lame, it could have been worked on more. It seemed it was done on a rush... I really liked the style of some of the paintings dont get me wrong, but if it was for me I would have worked more on their structure.

One of the highlights was dancing to Shpongle at sundown, he played some wicked tracks and I enjoyed every minute of it. The crowd was crazy too.

The night was Beautiful, and they did a great job with the stage .. Dj Absolute on friday night was really good too! Check out the dolphin visuals on this video while she is playing.

Vibrasphere was Beautiful, amazing set!! We actually got to meet him on the last day of the Festival and talked to him for a bit, but forgot to take pictures! he is so adorable! I should post a really cool video carlos made while he was playing.

D-nox was unbelievable, he literally melted my brains or was I too melted already? Either or, perfect timing, perfect weather and perfect music, one of the best sets I've heard. He killed it Sunday morning.

I would keep posting more, for now I have to go.. MOre videos to come !

I cant be happier to see how many things are lining up!

Some Shows are lining up for the end of the summer! me and some friends decorated an outdoor party a week ago that was very fun while it lasted... We all did a nice job and Im glad to be participating in such enviroments.

Im also starting up a collective with some very talented artists who just make my jaw drop everytime! we are making great things together...

My boyfriend's birthday is on september, I wonder what to get him, its coming up soon!! I'll make sure he gets a insanely fun time :D

I'll probably be moving out by the beginnning of fall, no more high rise tower building with sunrises and sunsets hugging you from the window! sure it is a sweeeet place, but it would be a great fun time with friends, dont worry I will still be around the downtown area. Cant wait until we get our studio rollin' and then magik !!!

I found some old drawings while visiting my family in london, my old home. I should be uploading these up somewhere soon, they are so old I dont even remember I had them, But its always good to find little scattered things from your brain around.

Sphinx road missing sections discovered

Egyptian archeologists have discovered missing sections of the so-called Sphinx road and the bottom part of an unknown pyramid in Sakkara area.

The road was mentioned in some ancient Greek manuscripts, according to chief of the Egyptian Supreme Council for Antiquities Zahi Hawwas.

According to him, it is believed that the discovered parts are connected to the passage leading to Anubis Temples of the jackal-headed god associated with mummification and the afterlife in Egyptian mythology.

Sakkara is one section of the great necropolis of Memphis. The old Kingdom capital and the kings of the 1st dynasty as well as that of the 2nd dynasty are mostly buried in this section of the Memphis necropolis. It is a place that has been of constant interest to Egyptologists.

Three major discoveries have recently been made at Sakkara, including a prime minister's tomb, a queen's pyramid, and the tomb of the son of a dynasty-founding king.

Each discovery has a fascinating story, with many adventures for the archeologists as they revealed the secrets of the past.

Sakkara is best known for the Step Pyramid, the oldest known of Egypt's 97 pyramids. It was built for King Djoser of the 3rd Dynasty by the architect and genius Imhotep, who designed it and its surrounding complex to be as grand as it was unique and revolutionary.

The U.S. Department of the Interior has listed the polar bear as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act, which gives the bear important new protections. More than 16,000 WWF supporters spoke out for this icon of the North during the public comment period on the proposed listing. Thank you!

WWF also thanks the 22,000 activists who opposed the sale of oil and gas leases in Alaska’s Chukchi Sea, within prime polar bear habitat. Unfortunately, despite an outpouring of public opposition, the Minerals Management Service recently opened nearly 30 million acres of the Chukchi Sea to oil and gas exploration. Because of the polar bear’s new threatened status, however, MMS will need to ensure that its actions do not jeopardize the polar bear’s continued existence.

The polar bear was listed due to the threat from climate change-induced loss of its sea ice habitat. Based on current ice models and projections for polar bear populations, experts believe that two-thirds of the world's polar bear population may be lost by 2050. While the Endangered Species Act listing is an important step forward, urgent additional action is needed by governments and societies to reduce our carbon footprint.

Vatican Approves of Aliens - History in the making !!

VATICAN CITY - Believing that the universe may contain alien life does not contradict a faith in God, the Vatican's chief astronomer said in an interview published Tuesday.

The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, was quoted as saying the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.

"How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere?" Funes said. "Just as we consider earthly creatures as 'a brother,' and 'sister,' why should we not talk about an 'extraterrestrial brother'? It would still be part of creation."

In the interview by the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes said that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures. Ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom, he said.

The interview, headlined "The extraterrestrial is my brother," covered a variety of topics including the relationship between the Roman Catholic Church and science, and the theological implications of the existence of alien life.

Funes said science, especially astronomy, does not contradict religion, touching on a theme of Pope Benedict XVI, who has made exploring the relationship between faith and reason a key aspect of his papacy.

The Bible "is not a science book," Funes said, adding that he believes the Big Bang theory is the most "reasonable" explanation for the creation of the universe. The theory says the universe began billions of years ago in the explosion of a single, super-dense point that contained all matter.

But he said he continues to believe that "God is the creator of the universe and that we are not the result of chance."

Funes urged the church and the scientific community to leave behind divisions caused by Galileo's persecution 400 years ago, saying the incident has "caused wounds."

In 1633 the astronomer was tried as a heretic and forced to recant his theory that the Earth revolved around the sun. Church teaching at the time placed Earth at the center of the universe.

"The church has somehow recognized its mistakes," he said. "Maybe it could have done it better, but now it's time to heal those wounds and this can be done through calm dialogue and collaboration."

Pope John Paul declared in 1992 that the ruling against Galileo was an error resulting from "tragic mutual incomprehension."

The Vatican Observatory has been at the forefront of efforts to bridge the gap between religion and science. Its scientist-clerics have generated top-notch research and its meteorite collection is considered one of the world's best.

The observatory, founded by Pope Leo XIII in 1891, is based in Castel Gandolfo, a lakeside town in the hills outside Rome where the pope has a summer residence. It also conducts research at an observatory at the University of Arizona, in Tucson.

U.N. says 1.5 million people affected by Myanmar storm

UNITED NATIONS (Reuters) - The United Nations estimated 1.5 million people have been "severely affected" by the cyclone that swept through Myanmar, with the United States expressing outrage on Thursday at delays in allowing in aid.

In Myanmar, desperate survivors cried out for food, water and other supplies nearly a week after 100,000 people were feared killed by Cyclone Nargis as it swept across the farms and villages of the low-lying Irrawaddy delta region.

"We're outraged by the slowness of the response of the government of Burma (Myanmar) to welcome and accept assistance," U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Zalmay Khalilzad, told reporters.

"It's clear that the government's ability to deal with the situation, which is catastrophic, is limited."

The U.N. food agency and Red Cross/Red Crescent said they had finally started flying in emergency relief supplies after foot-dragging by Myanmar's ruling military junta. The United States was waiting for approval to start military flights.

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates told reporters that Washington was "fully prepared to help and to help right away, and it would be a tragedy if these assets" were not used.

The Navy said four ships, including the destroyer USS Mustin and the three-vessel Essex Expeditionary Strike Force, were heading for Myanmar from the Gulf of Thailand after the Essex deployed helicopters to Thailand for aid operations.

Witnesses have seen little evidence of a relief effort in the delta that was swamped in Saturday's storm. It was the worst cyclone in Asia since 1991, when 143,000 people were killed in neighbouring Bangladesh.

"We'll starve to death if nothing is sent to us," said Zaw Win, a 32-year-old fisherman who waded through floating corpses to find a boat for the two-hour journey to Bogalay, a town where the government said 10,000 people were killed.

I really need to come up with some new airbrush work, but Im currently shopping for a good airbrush that does'nt gives me headaches.. I have a few picked out already, I hope Im able to get it soon. There is a lot going on and I definately need to work on newer pieces now ... I miss it too much and its a lot of fun :D

I still need to finish a big big painting I have right now that I was airbrushing, but my airbrush broke half way through it and now it is just standing there looking pretty ... I really want to finish it, should I work on it without an airbrush ?? I think mixing two techniques is a good idea and should look interesting, but I definately wanted to finish this one with an airbrush. I want to finish it as soon as possible, before I get bored of it :P

So Sara needs to get a new Airbrush ASAP... again...

Hope the day is good to ya, Im freezing because my building for the past couple days decided to cut the heat for some reason not even few weeks after spring has officially started and only the AC works, but I shut it off... whats wrong with these people??? :/ So I closed all the blinds that cover these huge glass windows everywhere.. heh, mmmmmm hot chocolate :D

It is Up and Running

So The new layout for my website is up and running !! Im finally done school and now I was able to put up the new layout with more time in my hands:D

I hope you enjoy the new look. The artwork sections are still being updated , I still have to put up the rest of my paintings up and the rest of works in the different sections. It does take a lot of time with the new gallery layout, Im enjoying the way it works. Also I added a music player in the gallery that would be updated often with new tracks for your listening pleasure :D

So the site will be complete once I put up all the artwork that still needs to be put up.

Thanks for checking it out and I appreciate all feedback towards my work :D

Hey all, I just uploaded some new material on my gallery

Check on the new sculpture works, and also on the painting section I uploaded a new assigment that Im pretty happy how it turned out ..

She is an assigment for my painting class, and I copied her from a sculpture .. I love her body and I love her posture, the hands in the back were hard to get done but I managed to pull it off.. Next week we are having a critique for this assigment

So I have updated the galleries with some new work, I Also added some new sculpture pictures to it... Im working right now on a very cute cheetah that is about 25 cms tall and the textures of the fur and the cuteness of the face are what Im loving the most, I should upload this sometime soon

I Also added some of my life drawing sketches out of hundreds haha that I took for a final portfolio that was put together to apply to other programs for the next term...

Hey There, I decided to Re- Design my website with a much better gallery.. However there are some fixes I still need to do to it..

For now Im busy busy finishing the portfolio for the Illustration program which I hope I get in.. SO far it is looking very nice.. still I have to show it around teachers and students for their input on it and critics before I send it off ...

For now my website is still under construction, but all this drawing is taking most of my time, I will still work on it any free time I got or give myself between drawings ... Welcome to the new blogSpot. So now I decided to join this so I can blog about the wanders of being in school and being a rising visual artist in Toronto

At The moment Im working on a painting for a party on Saturday in Buffalo , USA ... Im sending my art with some friends and I have about 7 paintings to send, big and small, but the one Im working on is the biggest, I am liking the way its coming out
